On December 29, he scored 47 points in a 130–126 loss to the Washington Wizards. On January 24, he was named a starter for the Eastern Conference in the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, joining Glen Rice as the only players to represent Charlotte in three All-Star Games and becomes the third Hornets player to start an All-Star Game. Following the season, he was named to the All-NBA Third Team, his first all-league selection.
